Welcome to our page devoted to Sasha dolls!
Sasha dolls are named for their creator, Swiss doll artist, Sasha Morgenthaler (1895-1975).
Our
site is informational, for fun, and we have many items for sale on here as well!  We hope you like your stay!
"It is the interplay of
asymmetry in the
proportions that
creates the lively effect.
 The asymmetrical
construction of the doll,
which must, at the
same time, create a
unified whole, is the
basis for the numerous
possibilities of
expression in my dolls.
- Sasha Morgenthaler
The above photos were taken from a small booklet from the 1980's called "Sasha In Motion".  The dolls at the
top of the page are "custom made" Sasha dolls created by me.  For more Sasha Photos, scroll down!

Two 1960's Studio Sasha Dolls
Sasha dolls have been loved by all ages for decades.  They are wonderful dolls for children, as they are sturdy, have a
neutral expression and are asymmetrical in their construction.   Sashas are well loved by children as well as both casual
and serious adult doll and art collectors, as each doll is a small work of art!  If you are unfamiliar with Sasha dolls, I
would suggest beginning with the "About Sasha" page!

Where is Sasha?
(BELOW) This pensive girl was one of my custom repaint dolls who was adopted into a new home!
Can you guess where she is?   She is visiting the old Frido/Trendon factory in England where Sasha
was manufactured from 1965 until 1986!
These marvelous photos are courtesy Gillian Houston and her talented husband, Steve.
All photos and factory information below courtesy Gillian Houston.  Please do not copy.
These photographs were recently taken, and show the former factory in its current state.  Originally, the building was a cotton
mill built at the turn of the century.  Gillian reports that the building is being renovated and will become apartments within the
next two years.  There is talk of regenerating the nearby waterway for leisure use as well.  The outside of the building will not
be altered for heritage purposes.

I hope you enjoy these photos of little Autumn reliving old memories!  She was born here, traveled to America, where she lived
for many years, waiting to be discovered after her child had grown, came to me needing a makeover, and was customized into
a streaked redhead, and now has gone home some 30 years later.
Gillian said that she looked quite happy there, like she wondered where all her brothers and sisters went!
"I have tried to recreate my
dreams, and I am now fulfilled
through the creation of realistic
dolls that children can love
because they have their own,
personal expressions."
- Sasha Morgenthaler
