Welcome to
Kaleidoscope Kids
A new year, a NEW name!  Welcome to Kaleidoscope Kids, the custom Sasha section of OurSashaDolls!

Just as a twist of the kaleidoscope can yield an entirely new and different image, so can a Sasha doll be given a whole new look!  The
basic Sasha doll mold, as sculpted and created by Sasha Morgenthaler, lends itself beautifully to being changed and made into one of
a kind doll.  Just look at the hundreds of different studio dolls Sasha created over the course of nearly four decades with the
four basic
headmolds!

I have been repainting Sasha dolls for "readoption" since 2004.  My dolls are painted with acrylic paints and then sealed.  On the dolls
with dyed hair, the dye is permanent.  (Although I gave green eyes and freckles to one of my kids' play Sashas two years ago and it has
never  worn off, I would recommend that custom dolls not be used as play dolls for children, just because I cannot guarantee that the
feature paint would endure very hard play or water.)

Feel free to email me about my dolls, but before asking questions, check the page of FAQ's about "custom" Sasha dolls!

Two best friends!  The girl on the right might look
familiar as she is Mihret - I had her in traditional
Ethiopian dress previously on this site.  I found
that there was more interest in her as a more
contemporary looking girl and once I tried her in a
pink jumper, I thought she was just adorable!  I
also purchased a different type of paint, in the
hopes that I could make her features stand out,
and I believe I have succeeded.  The very black
dolls are difficult to work with, as the dark paints
get lost in the vinyl color.  However, these new
paints have given her features a bolder
appearance.

She began has an early 1970's Caleb with falling
hair.  Her wig is a special modacrylic wig with a
"skin" top, which means it gives the appearance of
being rooted and looks like an actual scalp.  I
have given her many braids and heat treated her
hair to give it a course and more suitable texture to
her ethnicity.  Her hair is a lot of fun to play with!  It
can be pulled into ponytails, and if you care to
undertake the endeavor, you can undo her braids
and style it any way you want (although the kinky
texture is permanent.)

She comes wearing her pink jumper with striped
t-shirt and socks.  (Little dolly not included, but
she'd love some new toys at your house!)   I
always felt that a long haired black Sasha was
missing from the line of production dolls, so I
really just love Mihret!!  I really enjoyed studying
Sasha's technique of using a light wash of blue
under the eye, and the use of pink over the eye.

Of course, as always, 10% of her sale price still
goes to Compassion International to help real
children.

If you would like to adopt this lovely girl, she is
$295
(SALE PENDING) Mihret's best friend in the whole
world is Mikayla!  Mikayla began as a 1970's brunette
girl.  To my great surprise, she did not have falling
hair at all!  Even after it was washed!  However, she
did have an eye scratch and a little swatch of hair
trimmed at the very top of her bangs.  It is not seen
now that her hair has been washed and brushed
down.    Her only other flaw is that she was kept in a
doll stand at one point, so she has a little dimpling at
her waist.  I have attached a photo, and I can unstring,
fix her dents and restring her if her buyer wishes.  I
didn't bother doing it beforehand, as I thought they
may like her original stringing and it is really not
distracting.

Mikayla has been given blue eyes in cobalt shades
and she wears an adorable pair of overalls and pink
shirt.  She's very versatile and her hair can be styled
and played with in many ways.  She loves to play with
her best friend, Mihret, but unlike outgoing and flexible
Mihret, Mikayla is a little more shy.  But the girls still
get easily lost in their own world of pretend!

Mikayla is $335 and if you would like to adopt her,
please
email me.
Mary and Dickon from The Secret Garden
(SALE PENDING) Meet Carson!
Carson is the newest custom Sasha
doll!  She began as a 1980's boy
and has been remade into a little
tomboy with sunstreaked hair.  She
wears a handmade pair of overalls
that she's borrowed from an older
brother and she loves to play outside!

She loves her purple straw hat
though, and that comes with her too.

Carson's features have been
repainted in acrylics in a watercolor
style where the colors are run
together in a less controlled style.
She has freckles and a wonderful
modacrylic wig by Monique.  It is a
lovely in that it has a center part and
is a blending of blonde shades.

Doesn't my pony look pretty?
Carson likes to be outside in her overalls, but
when mom says it's time to come in and get
dressed for company, she is okay with her
dress, as long as it's her Springtime Pooh
dress.  This dress is handmade and comes
with her - it features a small print Winnie the
Pooh flying kites.

Carson comes with both outfits and her hat.
She is $365 and overseas shipping is $38 -
US shipping determined by zone.
Email me
if you would like to adopt her!

If the buyer would like to opt out of either the
dress or overalls, her price is $350
